Prompt of the Day 🎨

Celebrating cycling's main event:

"The Tour de France as your context, generate a montage of moments displaying the event through the many decades. Think of the old black and white photos of the early days in the 1800's, as well as the notable participants in recent decades like Eddy Merckx, Greg LeMond, Lance Armstrong. Last, give the image a title at the top.

Exclusive: OpenAI to release web browser in challenge to Google Chrome  🧐

OpenAI is close to releasing an AI-powered web browser that will challenge Alphabet's market-dominating Google Chrome.

The browser is slated to launch in the coming weeks, three of the people said, and aims to use artificial intelligence to fundamentally change how consumers browse the web. It will give OpenAI more direct access to a cornerstone of Google's success: user data.

Nvidia's stock market value hits $4 trillion on AI dominance 💰

Nvidia (NVDA.O) briefly reached a market capitalization of $4 trillion on Wednesday, making it the  first company in the world to reach the milestone and solidifying its position as one of Wall Street's most-favored stocks.

Shares of the leading chip designer rose as much as 2.8% to an all-time high of $164.42, benefiting from an ongoing surge in demand for artificial-intelligence technologies.

YouTube prepares crackdown on "mass-produced' videos as concern over AI slop grows  ✴️

On July 15, the company will update its YouTube Partner Program (YPP) Monetization policies with more detailed guidelines around what type of content can earn creators money and what cannot.

The exact policy language itself has not yet been released, but a page on YouTube’s Help documentation explains that creators have always been required to upload “original” and “authentic” content. The update says that the new language will help creators to better understand what “inauthentic” content looks like today.

Some YouTube creators were concerned that the update would limit their ability to monetize certain types of videos, like reaction videos or those featuring clips, but a post from YouTube Head of Editorial & Creator Liaison Rene Ritchie says that’s not the case.

iMerit believes better quality data is the future of AI 📊

AI data platform iMerit believes the next step toward integrating AI tools at the enterprise level is not more data, but better data. And better data doesn’t come from hordes of gig workers, but from experts across mathematics, medicine, healthcare, finance, autonomy, and other cognitive fields, the company says.

The California- and India-based startup has for the past nine years quietly built itself into a trusted data annotation partner for companies working in computer vision, medical imaging, autonomous mobility, and other AI applications that require high-accuracy, human-in-the-loop labeling.

Basu brought up the example of healthcare scribes that have come to market off the back of foundational large language models.

“If you don’t have the expertise of the cardiologist or the physician, what you’re doing is basically creating something that’s maybe 50% or 60% accurate,” Basu said. “You want that to be 99%. You want to question the model. You want to break it. You want to fix it. That is what expert-led AI is making possible for enterprise.”

Hugging Face is ready for developers to start tinkering and testing its latest robotics release.

The AI development platform announced Wednesday that it’s now accepting orders for its Reachy Mini desktop robots. The company initially unveiled the prototypes of these devices back in May alongside a larger humanoid robot named HopeJR.

Hugging Face said it plans to release two versions of the Reachy Mini. The first, called the Reachy Mini Wireless, is wireless and costs $449 and runs on a Raspberry 5 mini computer. The second version is the Reachy Mini Lite, which needs to be connected to a computing source but is cheaper at $299.
