Prompt of the Day 🎨
Summertime means enjoying the backyard:
Generate a funny, photo-realistic image of a backyard at dusk where three people are chaotically running away from a swarm of oversized, realistic mosquitoes. Each person should be holding a bug zapper paddle as they flee in different directions, one darting off the patio, another diving into bushes, and one sprinting across the yard. The setting should include patio furniture, warm evening light, and a typical suburban fence and landscaping. The mood is comedic panic. Title the image at the bottom in bold, off-white letters: "OPERATION: BUGGED OUT".
Cybersecurity: Leading at the Speed of Algorithms 🧐
The critical question is no longer whether AI will be weaponized, but how soon organizations can adapt to counter it.
AI is fundamentally reshaping the cybersecurity landscape, acting as both a powerful defense tool and a formidable weapon in the hands of cybercriminals.
Legacy systems represent one of the greatest vulnerabilities in this new cyber arms race. Many were not designed to support behavioral analytics, AI-based detection or real-time threat response. Their long patch cycles and static rule sets make them ill-equipped to counter today’s dynamic AI-powered attacks.
Bernie Sanders says with AI we should get a 4-day work week 💰
“Technology is gonna work to improve us, not just the people who own the technology and the CEOs of large corporations,” Sanders said. “You are a worker, your productivity is increasing because we give you AI, right? Instead of throwing you out on the street, I’m gonna reduce your work week to 32 hours.” (Bernie Sanders)
For the tech elite, the promise of AI-driven increases in productivity means that companies can do even more, since their workers will be freed up to take on even more tasks — or, they can save money by just slashing their headcount. But for workers, this boost in efficiency could mean completing their existing workloads in less time with no loss in pay, so maybe if they’re lucky, they can make it to their kid’s Little League game.

Anthropic wins key AI copyright case ⚖️
Anthropic has won a major legal victory in a case over whether the artificial intelligence company was justified in hoovering up millions of copyrighted books to train its chatbot.
In a ruling that could set an important precedent for similar disputes, Judge William Alsup of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California on Tuesday said Anthropic's use of legally purchased books to train its AI model, Claude, did not violate U.S. copyright law.
At the same time, some media companies and publishers are also seeking compensation by licensing their content to companies like Anthropic and OpenAI.

How to mitigate the hidden risks of AI at work 🤨
For many people, generative AI (GenAI) began as personal experimentation in homes and on personal devices. Now however, AI has become deeply ingrained in workplace habits, creating productivity gains, but also exposing organizations to significant security gaps.
The first step is obtaining a complete picture of how AI tools are being used across your organization. Visibility enables IT leaders to identify patterns of employee activity, flag risky behaviors (such as attempts to upload sensitive data), and evaluate the true impact of public AI app usage.
The goal shouldn’t be to choose between security and productivity, rather it’s about creating an environment where both coexist. Organizations that successfully achieve this balance will position themselves at the forefront of a rapidly evolving digital landscape. By mitigating the risks of Shadow AI and enabling safe, productive AI adoption, enterprises can turn gen AI into an opportunity rather than a liability, future-proofing their success in the process.
Three Mile Island nuclear plant reboot ☢️
The former Three Mile Island nuclear power plant in Pennsylvania may restart in 2027, about a year ahead of schedule after being put on a fast track to connect to the regional grid, executives with the plant's owner Constellation Energy said on Wednesday.
Constellation's 20-year power purchase agreement with Microsoft is emblematic of the dramatic lengths Big Tech has been willing to go to fuel its artificial intelligence expansion, which began to intensify a year-and-a-half ago.
As the technology industry drives U.S. electricity demand to record highs, nuclear power has broadly seen a resurgence of interest after decades in decline. New York plans to build a new nuclear power plant, which would be one of the first to be constructed in a generation.
